Allied Construction Industries , or ACI, marked its 93rd annual meeting on March 23 by handing out 35 scholarships to 22 area college and university students who are entering the construction industry after graduation. The scholarships totaled more than $80,000.
ACI’s annual scholarship campaign started with a single donation from an instructor who refused payment for his work. Today, the Greater Cincinnati Construction Foundation has awarded more than $375,250 in educational scholarships.
“ACI believes strongly in the need for the industry to recognize and support the next generation of construction industry talent,” Jordan Vogel, Executive Director of ACI said. “These awards and scholarships speak very loudly to the young people who receive them. Their takeaway from receiving this support is that they are valued and that they have a place – an honored place – in our industry,”

Also recognized were the 2022 Skilled Trade Award winners, granted to individuals nominated by their employers who demonstrate reliability, knowledge of their trade, craftsmanship and exemplary work on the job site. Each winner received a $500 cash award.
