Michael McGrath is a business owner and has served one term on the Alexandria City Council.

McGrath owns Sure Drive Driving School, which he said has allowed him to work with thousands of local families throughout Northern Kentucky. That experience, he said, has reinforced the importance of community involvement, strong local leadership, and creating opportunities for future generations. McGrath said he remains committed to listening to residents, supporting local businesses and helping Alexandria continue to thrive.

McGrath faces Tom Baldridge, Patrick Blair, Laura Fincher, Stacey Graus, Nick Sears and Christopher Vaught-Hall in the Nov. 3 general election.

McGrath said he is seeking re-election because he cares deeply about the community and wants to continue the progress the council has made over the past two years.

“As a small business owner and council member, I have worked to support local businesses, encourage responsible growth and help make Alexandria a great place to live, work and raise a family,” McGrath said. “I believe there is still important work to be done, and I would be honored to continue serving our residents.”

McGrath said that local government has the greatest direct impact on people’s daily lives. Public service gives him the opportunity to help solve problems, support local businesses and ensure the city continues moving in a positive direction. He said he enjoys bringing a practical, business-minded perspective to city government and working collaboratively to improve the community.

If reelected, McGrath said his first priority will be continuing to support responsible growth while maintaining the quality of life that makes Alexandria special. That includes strengthening business retention and development efforts, supporting infrastructure improvements and ensuring city government remains responsive, transparent and fiscally responsible.
