Jenn Owens said she is running for re-election to the Bellevue Board of Education to continue building on the meaningful progress the district has made in its schools.

Serving the community, Owens said, requires consistent leadership, thoughtful stewardship of resources and an ongoing commitment to supporting students, educators and families. While the district has achieved significant milestones, Owens said, there is still  work to be done to ensure every student has the tools and environment needed to succeed.

Owens faces Ronnie Noonchester, Dan Swope and Tammi Woodruff in the Nov. 3 general election.

Her motivation for public service comes from the belief that everyone has some kind of civic responsibility to make the world a better place no matter how big or small the contribution might be.

“Strong public schools are the foundation of a thriving town, and every student deserves access to a quality education,” Owens said. “Serving on the board allows me to pair structured, practical problem-solving with a genuine dedication to supporting my neighbors and investing in our community’s future.”

Should she be reelected, Owens said her first priority would be continuing to focus on the basics that make the schools great: giving teachers what they need to teach, ensuring every student feels supported and making responsible decisions with the community’s tax dollars without overcomplicating things.
