Diana Niceley is currently a member of the Erlanger City Council and will challenge incumbent Mayor Jessica Fette in November. Niceley is the sister of Jeff Niceley, who is running for a seat on the Kenton County Fiscal Court. The Niceley family owns and operates Niceley’s, a well-known HVAC business.
Niceley has been critical of the current mayor and said she’s running to “move the city in a positive direction while working as a team. By that I mean working with elected city council members, rather than shutting them out.”
In her statements to LINK nky, Niceley pointed to her disappointment in Fette’s leadership as a primary motivator for running. If elected, she said, she wanted to make it a point to listen to “all people, and that is not happening today.”
In terms of concrete proposals, she pointed to infrastructure and restoring empty storefronts throughout the city as priorities.
“We love the new Kroger, but it moved out of the city of Erlanger into Edgewood, costing
Erlanger many jobs and affecting our budget,” Niceley said “We need to work on filling the empty store fronts, such as the former Kroger and the former Frisch’s building.”
