The search for a missing 9-year old boy ended with the tragic discovery of his body in the Ohio River on Saturday.
Ian Sousis was reported missing to Covington Police on Saturday morning after he reportedly walked away from the Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky.
In announcing the search for Sousis on Saturday, police said that in the past when the boy, who is autistic, walked away from the Children’s Home, he was located in the riverfront fast food area of Covington.
Multiple police and fire agencies searched around Devou Park on Saturday in hopes of finding the boy safe.
At around 1:30 p.m. a body was found floating in the Ohio River near the Villa Hills Marina. Villa Hills Police said that the body was a juvenile male.
Covington Police later confirmed that it was Sousis.
