Candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, District 4 and political activist Mohammad Ahmad has withdrawn from the race.
When asked why, Ahmad stated that he simply “decided to focus on other things.”
Ahmad is a Palestinian American, Covington resident and a vocal critic of Zionism. He was running as part of the Kentucky Party, which opposes the use of military force, coercion or violence to achieve political objectives, according to the party’s website. The party identifies ending Kentucky’s participation in U.S. military interventions abroad as one of its core policy goals. It also generally opposes military spending and arms exports, arguing that international disputes should be addressed primarily through diplomacy, negotiation and other peaceful means.
Now that Ahmad has dropped out, three candidates will take the field for District 4’s seat in November: Democrat Melissa Strange, Libertarian Jeremy Todd and Republican Ed Gallrein.
