Councilwoman Cassi Schabell of Lakeside Park has announced her resignation from the city council.
Schabell explained her resignation was due to moving to Edgewood in a post on voicesoflakesidepark.com.
“My recent move to Edgewood necessitates my resignation, but I will always value the relationships I built here and the opportunity to serve,” Schabell wrote in the blog post. “I encourage residents to continue supporting candidates who demonstrate integrity, open-mindedness, and a genuine commitment to collaboration.”
Schabell was first elected to the city council in 2024. She stepped down on Dec. 4.
