Current Erlanger Mayor Jessica Fette, who first took office in 2019, has announced her intention to seek reelection as mayor.

“Seven years ago, I promised I would lead Erlanger forward with compassion, cooperation and respect for every resident who calls this city home,” Fette said in a press release. “I’ve made that promise a reality and vow to continue for another term.”

Fette filed papers with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance in May. Candidates won’t be able to officially file to run with county clerks’ offices until November, but any candidate who wishes to raise or spend more than $5,000 during an election has to file with the registry.

Fette’s time in office has been characterized by several large infrastructure and parks projects, such as the 1000-acre Eons Adventure Park. Fette also pointed to what she characterized as the city’s sound financial management under her aegis, such as passing “balanced budgets that protect essential services without creating new debt.”

“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and I believe, with all my heart, that our best days are still ahead of us,” Fette said.

Erlanger’s city government operates under a mayor-council form of government and sports one of the largest city councils in the region with nine council seats. One of the current Councilmembers, Rebecca Reckers, has already announced her intent to run for a position on the Kenton County Fiscal Court.
