Although much of the attention on Election Day was focused on the state-level constitutional races, there were a few local races on the ballot as well, most of which were uncontested.

The only contested local election took place in Ludlow in Kenton County for a city council seat (read our candidate profiles here). In that race, challenger David Ziegler defeated incumbent Araminta “Ari” Knight to take the council seat.

“I’d like to thank the citizens of Ludlow for the support they have shown me today,” said David Ziegler. “I’m humbled and honored to represent the people of Ludlow. The town we have always loved. I promise to do the very best I can as your newest council member. I want to thank my opponent, Ari Knight for serving on council the past 6 months. I hope she will continue to stay involved in our community as I believe she cares a great deal about Ludlow.”

“Thank you to the citizens of Ludlow for your consideration at the polls this week,” Knight said in an email to LINK nky. “I am dedicated to serving my community in whatever way you’ll have me. While that may not be as a member of Council at this time, I will still be here advocating for sustainable growth, celebrating local businesses and loving this community.

“Best of luck to David Ziegler in his new role, let me know if I can help during the transition into office,” Knight added.

The results of the other contests are listed below. All races were nonpartisan.
