Nov. 8 is election day, but voters can cast their ballot four different ways in Kentucky. 

  1. In-person, Excused, Absentee Early Voting before Election Day, Oct. 26 – 28, 2022 and Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2022
  2. In-person, No-excuse, Absentee Early Voting before Election Day, Nov. 3 – 5, 2022
  3. In-person on Election Day, November 8th, 2022
  4. By Mail-in Absentee ballot (return by mail or ballot drop-box). Mail-in absentee portal dates: Sept. 24 through Oct. 25

Now that the window for absentee voting has closed, Northern Kentucky voters can now vote three ways. 

Here is the information from all three counties on how and where to vote ahead of election day. 

Boone County

In-Person Absentee Voting Excuse Only

Voters may cast their ballot in person at the Boone County Clerk’s Office Voter Registration Department at 2950 Washington Street Burlington, Ky., 41005. You can cast your ballot from Wednesday, Oct. 25 to Wednesday, Nov. 2 during normal business hours only. The Clerk’s office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Thursday, and Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. 

In-Person Early Voting No Excuse necessary

Voters may vote early in person at Boone County Enrichment Center Lower Level at 1824 Patrick Drive Burlington, Ky. 41005. The Center’s hours are: Thursday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Election Day voting

Voters may cast their ballot on Nov. 8 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the precinct associated with their address. You can contact the Voter Registration Department at 859-334-2130 or visit booneclerk.com for precinct information.

Campbell County

In-person Early Voting (Excuse required)

Voters may vote in person in the Campbell County Administration Building at 1098 Monmouth Street, Newport, KY in Room 205 during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on Oct. 26, 27, 28, 31 and Nov. 1 and 2. Remember, this is excuse only for those who are unable to vote on Election Day or the three early voting days.

In-person Early Voting (No excuse required)

Voters may vote early in person at any of the three early voting centers listed below on Thursday, Nov. 3, Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Election Day

Voters may cast their ballots on Tuesday, Nov. 8 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the precinct location associated with their address. Some voting locations have changed since 2020 so visit the Campbell County Clerk website at campbellcountyclerkky.com for updated information or call our office at 859-292-3885.

Kenton County

In-person absentee voting with an excuse will be available at the Kenton County Government Center at 1840 Simon Kenton Way in Covington on Oct. 26, 27 & 28 and then on Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Early in-person voting without an excuse will be available on Nov. 3,  4, and 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following voting centers.
