The last day to file as a candidate for the 2022 election in races that are nonpartisan and do not require a primary was Tuesday at 4 p.m.

While partisan races like state representative or county judge/executive require a primary, and some municipalities like Covington and Newport do (if enough candidates file), other offices like smaller city councils and boards of education have a later filing deadline. The May 17 primary races required candidates to file in January. The other races met their deadline on June 7.
