Florence is getting a 1920s-themed burger and beer joint, and it will be the first location in all of Kentucky.

Ford’s Garage first opened in Fort Myers, Florida in 2012, less than a mile from famed automaker Henry Ford’s winter home. The restaurant features vintage cars, gas pumps, and touts bars styled with Prohibition-style brick.

The restaurant offers a range of burger and beer options.

Founder Mike McGuigan chose Florence’s former Tilted Kilt location on Houston Road for the next Ford’s Garage. He said that location is attractive for a restaurant development thanks to the nearby hotels, and the renovations made to Turfway Park.

A Ford’s Garage is already open in Norwood, Oh.

McGuigan said residents will start to see changes to the building in the next few weeks, but the project is still in its early development stages. His goal is to have the restaurant serving customers by the holiday season or the end of 2022.
