Tuesday is slated to be a big day for the future of the BLINK light festival and art show in Northern Kentucky.

BLINK organizers and NKY community leaders are hosting a press conference at the Covington Plaza on Madison Avenue. Their plan is to announce Northern Kentucky’s participation in this year’s BLINK festival during a press conference at 10 a.m.

“The fact that there’s so much awareness and so much interest, there’s not anywhere I can go where you mention BLINK and people aren’t aware of it. That’s pretty amazing for a free public art event,” BLINK executive director Justin Brookhart told LINK nky in May.

BLINK was last held in the region, including Covington, in 2019, when 1.3 million people were estimated to have been in attendance throughout the weekend.

This year, BLINK is scheduled for Oct. 13-16.

“BLINK gives our residents another reason to feel proud, and it makes a dynamic impression on first-time visitors who come to Covington from across the river,” Covington Mayor Joe Meyer said.

The speakers include:

  • Joe Meyer, mayor of Covington
  • Brendon Cull, president of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber
  • Justin Brookhart, executive director of BLINK
  • Nick Wade, executive director of Renaissance Covington
  • Julie Kirkpatrick, president & CEO of meetNKY

BLINK is produced by The Agar, the Haile Foundation, and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, and together with its partners, Artworks, Cincy Nice, and ish.
