A $5,000 anonymous donation is helping launch a $25,000 challenge grant to support the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra’s free summer concert series in Fort Thomas and Covington.

The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra performs three summer concert series in Tower Park, 900 S Fort Thomas Ave., and Devou Park, 1201 Park Drive, each year. These concerts are free for the community, but they would not be possible without their sponsors and community donations.

According to the city of Fort Thomas, there is an anonymous donor committing a $5,000 match for a challenge grant of $25,000 in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

“We are excited to team up with the KSO and Horizon Community Funds of NKY for America 250 and their ‘Giving 4th campaign’ to sponsor the summer concert series in Tower Park and Devou Park,” said the anonymous Fort Thomas donor. “Our kids love listening and dancing to the KSO in safe, open and inviting venues. We are excited our $5,000 will jumpstart the $25,000 challenge grant and inspire families who love and share music to join us to boost the KSO for the next generation.”

Every donation supports the KSO concerts in Tower Park. You can make donations online or in person at the concerts where they have donation boxes.

See the first KSO Patriotic-themed summer park series concert in Tower Park on Sunday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m.
