The Roebling Bridge Society, the nonprofit responsible for maintaining and showcasing the historic bridge, will launch a series of sunset walking tours starting later this summer.
“This bridge has connected our two cities for more than 150 years, but most people have never heard its full story,” said Don Jones, a historian and member of the society. “These tours give people a chance to walk the span the way Roebling intended, and to see why it changed engineering forever.”
The 90-minute tours will guide attendees through the bridge’s engineering history and significance. Tickets are $10 per person, and tours are limited to 20 participants.
Tours will take place on the following evenings:
- Thursday, June 19
- Saturday, July 25
- Saturday, Aug. 23
Participants must register in advance. Learn more and register for a tour at roeblingbridge.org/Home/Bridge-Tours.
