Carmelo’s in Covington has been nominated by USA Today as one of the 10 best new restaurants in the country and will compete for a spot on the final list throughout December.
“Nominations and opportunities like this are possible because of the community (that’s you) that believes in us,” the restaurant, located at 434 Madison Ave., wrote in a social media post.

People can vote to make the restaurant one of the 10 best until noon on Dec. 22. Winners will be announced on Jan. 2.
