Roebling Books and Coffee has selected Kentuckians For The Commonwealth to be their Book Fairy recipient for October.

Roebling’s Book Fairy program donates 20% of selected books to nonprofits working in the community, and Kentuckians For The Commonwealth members helped select works that reflect its vision and Kentucky’s diversity.

Kentuckians For The Commonwealth is a statewide organization using strategies like leadership development and voter engagement to impact climate justice, economic justice and more.

Featured authors include (but are not limited to) Kentucky natives like Frank X Walker, Silas House, and Crystal Wilkinson, as well as others. You can visit either of their locations in Covington or Newport, or order online, to view their larger collection and other works featured by the Book Fairy.

Kentuckians For The Commonwealth is also working with Roebling Books and West Sixth Covington Haus for a “Boozy Book Fair” fundraiser on Oct. 25 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event will be held at 100 West Sixth in Covington.

The event will feature the fair from 3 to 7 p.m. (including some Book Fairy selections, seasonal favorites, and local authors like Roberta Schultz, Pauletta Hansel and Anna Barnes); a happy hour where $1 from all beers will be donated to Kentuckians For The Commonwealth from 5 to 8 p.m.; and an open mic emceed by local writer Anna Barnes from 7 to 9 p.m. for folks to share music, poetry or stories.
