Midway Café’s chickens are rallying for the newly famous Fort Thomas chicken known as Bubbles.
While the restaurant is known for its smoked chicken wings, it is flipping the script to celebrate Bubbles, a precocious chicken that escaped her home and became famous in Fort Thomas’ Facebook group before being returned to her owner, with a fundraiser focusing on its burgers.
Aug. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. Bubbles will be at Midway for a meet and greet, pictures, and rumor has it she will be raffling off some of her eggs.
Midway will be joining the fun and donating $1 of every burger to Woodland Schoolhouse, owned by Bubbles’ owner Emily Bankemper. While the city’s chicken celebrity will only be at Midway from 5 to 7 p.m., the restaurant is donating $1 for every burger the entire day. Dine in and carry out.
