Perfetti Van Melle was named the official candy sponsor of America’s River Roots Festival.
The international confectionery company’s North American headquarters is in Erlanger, which offers the corporation a unique vantage point of the region and its offerings.
“With our own local roots as a great place to work in this region for over
50 years, and as the birthplace of the iconic Airheads candy, we see sponsoring the
OneNKY Zones as a sweet way to celebrate our heritage and America’s 250th birthday,” Perfetti Van Melle USA CEO Sylvia Buxton said in a news release.
Taking place from Oct. 8 to 12, the festival aims to celebrate the rich history and cultural significance of the Ohio River.
The festival will feature eight “zones,” each with a stage for live performances. OneNKY Alliance, a nonprofit advocating for a unified and connected Northern Kentucky, is sponsoring two zones in Covington and Newport.
