Veterans of Foreign Wars John R Little Post 3186 and its auxiliary have received the organization’s 2023-2024 National Community Service Award.
On hand to receive the honor during last weeks Southgate City Council meeting was Cindy Kohrs, president of the post’s auxiliary, and James Toebbe, former post commander and newly elected Covington city commissioner.
The award honors VFW posts that have shown outstanding involvement in community activities that clearly benefit the community. Posts report on a wide variety of community support activities, including community service, citizenship education, aid to others, youth activities, safety programs and other areas to be considered for the honor.
Post 3186 is located at 6 Electric Avenue in Southgate.
