The wait is nearly over.
Fort Thomas’ Tower Park will officially reopen on Thursday, July 4, at 4 p.m. with the new Tower Park playground area, the city announced in a Facebook post.
Attendees can arrive before the Independence Day celebration to witness the ribbon cutting of the new and improved playground area, then stay for the Kids Zone, which starts at 5 p.m. at the Mess Hall and features bouncy houses, face painting, and carnival games.
Since November of 2023, the park has been closed for a $3.6 million upgrade. The upgrades include all new playground equipment, ADA-compliant walkways, a decorative stone wall for the entranceway, and new signage.
The city had initially estimated that the park would be reopened in late spring.
Tower Park is located at 900 S Ft Thomas Ave.
