A Cincinnati-based company will provide the bang for Boone County’s upcoming 225th anniversary celebration.
On Tuesday, the Boone County Fiscal Court passed a resolution awarding the bid for the event’s fireworks to Yokum Fireworks; the same company responsible for the recent Thunder over Louisville — the nation’s largest annual fireworks event.
“They are the most complete bid and in our opinion, the best bid,” Parks Director David Whitehouse told the fiscal court.
Boone County’s 225th anniversary is slated for June 1 at the county fairgrounds in Burlington. Festivities are scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. lasting through 10 p.m.
