The Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road launched Girl Scout cookie season on Dec. 15, which helps rally the local community to support the entrepreneurial program for girls.

This year’s cookie season brings the new Raspberry Rally, a cookie similar to the infamous Thin Mint that will be exclusively offered online. All proceeds from in-person and online cookie sales stay local and are girl-focused.

“We are excited for today’s launch of online Girl Scout cookies sales with Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road,” Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road CEO Susan Douglas said. “With the online exclusive for Raspberry Rallys, our Kentucky girls are gaining vital omnichannel selling experience. This enhances the ways girls can sell and encourages development of entrepreneurial skills and launches Girl Scouts into the future by gaining ecommerce skills firsthand.”

The cookie sales go toward the following:

  • 19% for camp programs and properties
  • 19% for troop proceeds and rewards
  • 33% toward membership, volunteer development, and program support

The cookie sales represent over 80% of the Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road’s annual operating budget.

The Girl Scout cookie program helps embrace the understanding of the world of business, money management, and entrepreneurship by teaching the girls financial literacy, planning, budgeting, teamwork, innovative thinking, and confident decision-making. Additionally, the online sales of the Raspberry Rally promote an omnichannel selling experience.

Online cookie sales have already started, and in-person sales will begin on Jan. 1, 2023.

Customers can also use the Girl Scouts Finder App, which highlights where local girls will be hosting in-person cookie sale booths after Jan. 30, 2023. Booth sales will run from Feb. 3 through March 26, 2023.
