A ticket sold in Erlanger for Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing matched all five white ball winning numbers but not the Mega Ball, good enough to win the game’s second prize of $1 million, the Kentucky Lottery announced.

The winning Mega Millions number from last night’s drawing are: 2 – 5 – 29 – 64 – 69  with a Mega Ball of 18.

Lottery officials have not yet identified the winner or the store where the ticket was sold.

Though the winning prize of $1 million (pre-tax) is significant, had the Mega Ball also been matched, the prize would have been $36 million.

This is the second $1 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Kentucky in a week. Last Friday a player in Richmond also won the game’s second prize.

It is also the second large prize in Northern Kentucky announced by the Kentucky Lottery this week. A Campbell Co. family won $500,000 on a scratch-off game, which was announced Tuesday.

As for the Erlanger win, lottery security staff members will execute a series of security checks at the retailer where the winning ticket was sold. Once those checks are cleared, the name of the retailer will be released, the Kentucky Lottery said in its announcement.

Whoever the lucky winner is, lottery officials advise them to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a secure location. They have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize, which has to be done at the lottery’s headquarters in Louisville. The winner should contact the lottery’s claims office at 800-937-8946 on Monday to make arrangements to claim their prize, lottery officials said.
