The Purple People Bridge in Newport continues its celebration of its 150th year with a final event next week.
The Back Roads Wine Festival is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event will allow guests to take in the views from the bridge while enjoying wines from Ohio and Kentucky.
“We hope everyone will come down to enjoy the cool breeze on the bridge, celebrate our 150th, and enjoy live music, food trucks, craft vendors, and our region’s award-winning wineries,” said Purple People Bridge Company President Will Weber.
The following wineries are participating:
- Stonebrook Winery
- 12 Mile Creek Winery
- Eagle Creek Vineyard
- Gunpowder Creek Vineyards
- Skeleton Root Winery
- Redman’s Farm and Winery
The event will also feature craft vendors, food trucks, and live music by The Northern Kentucky Derby.
Attendance is free.
All proceeds will go to preserving and maintaining the Purple People Bridge.
