Circus in the Parks performers.

This summer a group of circus students will perform in free outdoor performances called “Circus in the Parks” to bring the joy of the circus to the community.

My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus is hosting the performances between June 10 and August 13. Circus performers will dazzle the audience with their circus skills including unicycling, juggling, diabolo (Chinese Yo-Yo), hooping, wire walking, rola bola, and gym (German) wheels.

Locations for the remaining free performances:

  • Taft Museum – June 26 at 12:45 p.m.
  • Ault Park Pavilion – July 10 at 1 p.m.
  • Wayne Recreation Area – July 14 at 6 p.m.
  • Erlanger Public Library – July 22 at 6 p.m.

Addressing students’ social-emotional health has been a top priority for My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus, especially in recent years due to the pandemic.

The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Children’s Hospital Association declared that the pandemic-related decline in child and adolescent mental health has become a national emergency.

The free social circus after-school classes, Circus Youth in Action, and skill-based circus classes address the social-emotional needs of youth through participation, creativity, and collaboration. Circus builds trust, perseverance, and confidence to go out into the world and pursue their dreams, with the knowledge that they accepted challenges with a trusted group of peers.

My Nose Turns Red is asking for donations to support its commitment to students’ social-emotional and physical well-being.

The summer scholarship donation will go to:

  • $25 – Provide snacks and drinks for summer circus camps
  • $50 – Provide summer camp T-shirts and Swag
  • $100 – Provide circus equipment for all programs
  • $250 – Support free circus skill workshops
  • $500 – Support a free public performance of Circus in the Parks
  • $1,000 – Support Summer Circus Camps for underserved youth
  • $1,500 – Support a 24-week session of an After-School circus program for a high-need school.
