The city of Florence is planning its annual Memorial Day ceremony and parade for Monday, May 30.

The ceremony — to recognize service members killed in the line of duty — will begin at the Florence Government Center at 8100 Ewing Boulevard. The program will feature music by the Florence Community Band and Chorus.

If Memorial Day proves to be rainy, the ceremony will be moved inside to the lower level of the government building.

Memorial Day is currently forecast to be partly cloudy with a high of 86 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Boone County High School, located at 7056 Burlington Pike. The parade route will travel southwest along Burlington Pike and turn left onto Ewing Boulevard, concluding at the Florence Government Center.
