Work is underway on the site at  the former Flipdaddys Newport Location at 165 Pavilion Pkwy., a promise of things to come.

While details are forthcoming, work appears to be moving forward on a new restaurant planned to occupy the former Flipdaddy’s building at 165 Pavilion Parkway at the Newport Pavilion shopping center.

Demolition work has begun and permits have been pulled. The City of Newport issued a work permit on December 6 for the new establishment. The name on the permit traces back to Fury Asian Foods, Inc. According to the permit documents, plans are for a bar, sushi bar, dining area and hibachi area.

The former Flipdaddy’s location in Newport Pavilion may soon be a Japanese-style hibachi restaurant and sushi bar.

All signs point to the new restaurant coming soon. Ohio-based Alba Contractors also received a permit, and work has been going on at the site.

Fort Thomas Matters has reached out to Anchor Associates, the realtor managing the property. The property is owned by Pine Tree, a commercial real estate company based in Illinois and known for management and development of open-air shopping centers.

Flipdaddys closed its Newport location in 2020 and subsequently closed its other locations in the region in Mariemont and Symmes Township.
