Kentucky land conservation fund gets ‘new lease on life’ from lawmakers
The Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund, established in 1990 to provide a consistent source of funding for local governments, state agencies, nonprofits and universities to protect land for recreation and preserving wildlife, has put into conservation more than 95,000 acres across the state, but its funding sources have dwindled in recent years due to a decrease in the coal industry and budget sweeps.

Fort Wright Community Clean Up Day: volunteers needed
The City of Fort Wright is seeking volunteers for its community clean up day, which takes place this Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers will meet at Fort Wright City Hall on Kyles Lane, where they will receive trash bags, grabbers, other cleaning supplies and a free t-shirt while supplies last.
