The SFC James Bishop Memorial Dog Park will hold its grand opening celebration this Saturday, April 29 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is open to the public and will feature music, activities, local food trucks, a dog costume contest and some giveaways. Local residents are encouraged to bring their furry friends to join in the festivities.
Named after James Bishop, a 1993 Holmes High School graduate and army sergeant who died will serving in Iraq in 2006, the park” features high-end decorative fencing, separate areas for small and large dogs, plenty of seating for patrons to sit while watching their dogs, and a waste station so dog owners don’t have to worry about bringing waste bags from home,” according to a press release from the city.
