West Sixth Brewing is closing its Covington location after less than two years in business.
The Lexington-based company opened the brewery in an old firehouse building under cocktail bar Second Story, located at 100 W. Sixth St., in early 2025.
Bartenders will pour the last beer this Saturday, according to a Facebook post from the business announcing the closure late Monday.
“Northern Kentucky has always been a special place for us, and we are so appreciative that Covington welcomed us with open arms,” the post reads in part. “But unfortunately with our lease coming up for renewal, we had to take a hard look at what it would take to make the investment the space needs for the years ahead, and ultimately we couldn’t justify continuing.
West Sixth has operated in the region since 2021 when it opened an outpost in Newport on the Levee’s Bridgeview Box Park.
The company was founded in 2012. It has three other locations in Kentucky, including Lexington, Louisville and Frankfort.
