Archer Daniels Midland, a multinational food-processing corporation, will expand its Boone County facility thanks to a $16 million investment.
The facility, located at 1260 Pacific Ave. on the border between unincorporated Boone County and Erlanger, serves as a regional hub for the company’s research, development and manufacturing.
The expansion is expected to add approximately 14,000 square feet of manufacturing space, with completion anticipated by early 2027. According to a news release from the governor’s office, company leaders said the additional space will allow it to increase production of its liquid and natural color solutions used by food and beverage manufacturers.
“As customers respond to evolving consumer preferences and changing regulatory landscapes, color has become a crucial part of successful reformulation,” ADM’s President of Global Flavors Calvin McEvoy said in a news release. “This investment strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality, reliable and scalable natural color solutions from our Colors From Nature portfolio to our customers, further positioning Northern Kentucky as a critical hub for our North American colors business.”
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear touted the project Monday as another example of continued investment in the state’s manufacturing sector.
“I want to thank ADM for reinvesting in Kentucky, creating new jobs in the Northern Kentucky region and growing their presence in the commonwealth,” Beshear said in the release. “Our economy continues to thrive, and this is the type of project that positions our state for even more growth. ADM’s leaders are showing that they believe in the future of Kentucky, and I look forward to their continued success.”
ADM entered the Northern Kentucky market in 2014 through its acquisition of WILD Flavors.
