Fort Mitchell-based Drees Homes announced its expansion into Columbus, becoming the third market in Ohio for the Northern Kentucky homebuilder.
According to a company news release, Columbus was an appealing market because of its nearly one million residents, a growing economy and a strong corporate presence from technology giants like Intel, Google, and Microsoft.
“The market’s similarities to Cincinnati, Cleveland and Indianapolis, along with its adjacency to existing operations, allow us to leverage established resources and deliver exceptional homes to a new community,” Drees’ Midwest Regional President Steve Tuckerman said in the release.
In early March, Drees broke ground on Alton Place in Hilliard, its first model home within the Columbus area. The model is scheduled to open this summer.
Besides Columbus, Drees’ operates in several markets, including Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Nashville, Raleigh, Washington, D.C., Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
