Carmelo’s, an Italian restaurant on Madison Avenue in Covington, is celebrating its one-year anniversary.

The restaurant is marking this milestone by thanking the community that has made its first year possible and announcing several special releases to commemorate the occasion.

Carmelo’s co-founder and chef Mitchell Arens says this celebration is as much about the guests as it is about the restaurant.

“This isn’t just our restaurant, it’s theirs,” said Arens. “Every guest who has come through our doors has helped build Carmelo’s into what it is today. We opened hoping to create a place where people feel at home, and our community made that dream real.”

To mark the anniversary, Carmelo’s has launched several exclusives that honor both its guests and its hometown:

Limited bottle release with New Riff Distilling: A single-barrel bourbon hand-selected by the Carmelo’s team, available for $65 while supplies last. $5 from every bottle sold will be donated to the Life Learning Center in Covington. Guests can also order a pour in the restaurant, with one dollar from each glass supporting the cause.

New Carmelo’s anniversary merch: Guests can now purchase Carmelo’s hats ($28) and birthday t-shirts featuring Carmelo himself ($22), available for in-store pickup only while quantities last.

“This first year has been full of stories, celebrations, and connections,” Arens said. “We wanted to find a way to give back to our guests who have supported us and to the community that’s been behind us from the beginning. The bourbon release and donation to the Life Learning Center felt like the perfect way to do that.”
