Covington-based Hawaiian restaurant Kealoha’s Kitchen has announced its impending closure.
On Oct. 9, the restaurant’s owners announced their decision on its official Facebook page. They cited financial reasons as the main cause for the closure.
The restaurant is located at 529 Main St. in Covington. Its last day is slated for Oct. 12.
The restaurant experienced a temporary closure in January due to slumping sales.
Kealoha’s Kitchen was founded by Val and Amy Abafo in late 2021. Val, a native of Oahu, prepares and serves dishes inspired by his childhood in Hawaii. Prior to opening their original location at 3428 Decoursey Ave. in Latonia, the couple operated out of a food truck.
