The Boone County Fiscal Court approved a zone change that will lead to the development of a new Wendy’s.
On Jan. 21, the fiscal court conducted a second reading of an ordinance that changes the zoning designation of a 1.2 acre plot of land along Mt. Zion Road from “Mobile Home Park” to “Commercial Four” to make way for a Wendy’s.
The fiscal court gets final approval over all zone change requests in unincorporated Boone County. The legislative body conducted a first reading on Jan. 7.
The Wendy’s is expected to be a 2,300 square-foot building with 29 total parking spaces, including two ADA, three delivery pickup, and two mobile order pickup spaces.
The firm behind the zone change, Edgewood-based developer Sinkula Investments, is a prominent franchisee of Wendy’s restaurants in Northern Kentucky, owning locations in Florence, Alexandria, Edgewood, Newport, Dry Ridge, Cynthiana, Covington, Union, Latonia, Hebron, Cold Spring and at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
