West Sixth Brewing’s ‘CovHaus’ is officially open to the public.

On Jan. 11, West Sixth hosted a grand opening ceremony at its new taproom at 100 W. 6th St. in Covington’s Central Business District. Commemorative beer steins were given to the first 100 patrons, in addition to other food and drink deals.

So what can patrons expect from Covington Haus? Well, over 20 beers on tap, free popcorn, open seating and two pinball machines.

The Covington Haus pays homage to the Covington Haus, a restaurant and bar that operated in the space in the 1970s and 1980s. It’s West Sixth’s first location in Northern Kentucky. Previously, the brewery operated a smaller storage container location at Newport on the Levee, but it was phased out in favor of Covington Haus.

The space, which was previously Flying Axes, is directly below the popular Second Story cocktail bar.
