The Newport building that houses the beloved greasy-spoon diner Pepper Pod was listed for sale.

Located at the corner of Monmouth St. and 7th St., the over 10,000-square-foot, three-story building is subdivided into three separate addresses: 701, 703, and 707 Monmouth St. According to loopnet.com, the property is currently listed for sale at $995,000.

The property’s current owner is Bill and Carroll Barton, who also runs the restaurant. While Pepper Pod occupies 701 and 703 Monmouth, Ira’s Barber Shop operates out of 707 Monmouth.

Pepper Pod first opened at 703 Monmouth St. in 1970 and quickly earned a reputation as a popular late-night and early-morning eatery. While it does not operate 24 hours a day any longer, it still remains a staple for many Greater Cincinnati area residents.

The listing notes that Pepper Pod is available as part of the purchase.
