Master Provisions, a Florence-based food surplus distribution nonprofit, recently purchased a 3.7-acre plot of land to make way for a facility expansion.
Master Provisions officials said in a press release that the nonprofit had outgrown the Borland Family Distribution Center — a 17,500-square-foot base facility that has served as its base of operations since 2010. The center is located at 7725 Foundation Drive in Florence.
A groundbreaking ceremony for Master Provisions’ new facility is set for this summer, according to the release.
“God has moved in big ways already through this process, and we are looking forward to seeing Him continue to bless this project as we approach groundbreaking,” said Master Provisions President Shane Armstrong.
The new property is located along Toebben Drive in Florence. Master Provisions raised $5.2 million over the past 14 months to purchase the land. The plot will enable the nonprofit to construct an expandable facility, starting with increased vertical racking capacity and more efficient workflow designs.
