At the March city council meeting, two members of the new Fort Thomas Business Council addressed council and the community to introduce themselves and to invite business owners to join.
Council heard from Nick Rolf, chair of the council, and member Jessica Hurley, a local real estate agent and vice president of Weichert Realtors. Rolf is an insurance agent with the Gross Insurance Agency in Fort Thomas.
The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce recently created two new business councils in Florence and Fort Thomas.
“First of all, we wanted to thank you guys for helping us during the COVID years with the funding. We wouldn’t have made it through that without your support. Coming out of COVID, we were trying to rebuild things. We’ve partnered with the Northern Kentucky chamber to form the Fort Thomas Business Council for a multitude of reasons,” said Rolf. “It gives us a lot more resources, it takes a lot of the heavy lifting off the volunteers and is giving us a lot more traction. So, we’re really excited about that partnership, and we’re building membership, continuing to grow. We’ve had some great meetings already this year.”
Hurley is president of the Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors and a member of the Campbell County Board of Assessors. She spoke about the business council’s first meeting in February.
“The February meeting was a community update and the state of the city. Mayor Haas attended, [School] Superintendent Brian Robinson and City Administrator Matt Kramer were there… We had about 60 people show up with lots of really good information to share with the business owners,” said Hurley.
She invited council and local business owners to the next meeting of the council. There will be a networking meeting on March 28 at 5 p.m. at Comal restaurant located at 18 N. Fort Thomas Avenue.
