Local nonprofit GO Pantry, which provides free food for Northern Kentucky students, announced the 2023-2024 selections to its Student Ambassador and Junior Board programs this week.
The two programs offer selected high school students a chance to learn about charitable and nonprofit work and increase awareness of student hunger in the community. Student members receive mentorship and training and help run community events throughout the school year.
“[The program] has grown to 35 students representing 13 schools throughout Northern Kentucky. Each student brings passion, creativity and compassion to their service on the council,” said Matt McIntire, one of the program’s mentors, in a recent press release. “We see great potential in this group of young leaders, and we are excited to see what they accomplish for their classmates who need food support.”
