A shop that’s been in Bellevue for nearly 20 years is moving to a bordering riverfront town.
Barb’s Cozy Cottage is moving to 620 6th Ave. in Dayton next to Galactic Fried Chicken. Their plans to move from Bellevue to Dayton were announced on the shop’s official Facebook page. Saturday, March 25 was its last day in Bellevue.
“I’m looking at it as a new opportunity,” founder and company namesake Barb Wiedeman said. “I want to bring new retail opportunities to the city. I also want to show people all the fun that’s in Dayton.”
Their new building was the former home of Unataza Coffee, which moved down the street to 630 6th Ave. Barb’s Cozy Cottage will now be less than a mile away from their original storefront at 307 Fairfield Ave.
In regards to a reopening timeline, Wiedeman told LINK nky the shop is projected to open back up approximately a week after Easter, although nothing is set in stone. She’s also planning a grand reopening ceremony for either the first or second weekend of May.
Wiedeman founded Barb’s Cozy Cottage in 2004. The shop sells unique gifts and other handcrafted items, but specializes in custom clothes for American Girl Dolls.
