Wondering what the former IRS site will look like when it is finished? Well, now you can fly through the proposed concept of Covington’s new development on the former IRS site with video released Thursday afternoon.
Concepts and renderings of the space were edited into a fly-through of the soon-to-be developed site, immersing viewers in the future of the Covington Central Riverfront.
KZF Design Inc. was chosen in June of this year to lead the team of architects, engineers, urban planners, and consultants whose drawings will lay the foundation for public infrastructure that will ready the 23-acre former IRS site for private development.
KZF plans to manage 11 partner firms during the project which includes restoration of a street grid that was erased in the 1960s when the City assembled 161 parcels and sold the site to the federal government for $1. Other infrastructure includes sidewalks, water lines, sanitary and storm sewers, gas and electric, telecommunications, and parking garage.
