Live in Covington? Wanna check out the Behringer-Crawford Museum? For free?

Covingtonians can visit the Behringer-Crawford Museum on Saturday for free during their “Covington Day” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Covington Day” admission gets you access to all exhibits at the museum, but the festive “Holly Jolly Days” exhibit has just a few weeks left. The Rosemary Clooney House White Christmas Collection exhibit offers multiple rooms of original costumes from the classic 1954 holiday musical worn by its famous cast: Rosemary Clooney as Betty Haynes; Vera-Ellen as Judy Haynes; George Chakiris, a dancer in the film; Bing Crosby as Bob Wallace; and Danny Kaye as Phil Davis.

If old-time musicals aren’t your thing, you can check out the 31st year of holiday trains at the Annual Holiday Toy Train exhibit. A staple of the museum, 250 feet of O-gauge railroad track invites attendees to push buttons activating lights, sounds, ice skaters, and more.

In addition to exhibits, the day will feature craft activities, play tables, a fishing game, the holiday trains, and an interactive LEGO play space by OKILUG (Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana LEGO Users Group).

Saturday’s forecast looks to be suitable for checking out the Winter Wonderland in the museum’s [email protected] area. Special outdoor activities are in store, with thousands of Christmas lights, a huge 20-foot snowman, a giant tree made of only lights, and log cabins.

In order to score your free admission, you will need to bring proof of residency by way of a piece of mail or government-issued I.D. Have friends that want to tag along but don’t live in the COV? No problem! A $5 guest ticket can be purchased for your out-of-town crew.

While admission is free for Covington residents, visitors are encouraged to bring an item for donation. Operation Waverly is partnering with the Rosemary Clooney House and Ohio Valley Goodwill by collecting items such as cleaning supplies or toiletries to help homeless veterans transition to new homes.
