The Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals, or VAREP, recently announced the launch of its Northern Kentucky chapter.

A mixer to celebrate will be held at Pee Wee’s Place on Thursday, July 28, from 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Established in 2012, VAREP is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership and economic development for the active military and veteran communities.

“Many real estate and financial service professionals would like to better serve the real estate needs of the 1,411,425 service members and 22,328,279 veterans nationwide,” said Son Nguyen, founder of VAREP.  “However, until now, no organization existed that could make it happen; VAREP was founded to fill the void.”

The Northern Kentucky chapter will serve the housing needs of the military and veteran communities in the region. Michael Smith has been named the chapter president and will lead the new organization as it establishes itself in the community.

“I am honored to be leading the Northern Kentucky VAREP Chapter to serve the thousands of veterans in the Northern Kentucky area,” Smith said. “We advocate in the policy arena on their behalf, empower our membership to better serve their real estate needs, and encourage organizations to create housing programs that suit the military and veterans’ unique needs.”
