Northern Kentucky University’s Visual Communication Design program is back in the top spot for the best graphic design program in Kentucky, as designated by “Animation Career Review.”
This is the first time since 2020 that the program has taken number one, up from number three in the 2021 rankings.
Head of the NKU Art and Design program Brad McCombs said the program allows students to gain internship opportunities and helps them launch their careers in design firms and studios after graduation.
“NKU Visual Communication Design is honored to be ranked as the number one graphic design program in the state,” McCombs said.
Rounding out the top five for the 2022 rankings are Western Kentucky University, University of Louisville, Murray State University, and Kentucky Wesleyan College.
The “Animation Career Review,” which has been publishing graphic design rankings since 2015, used six different categorical measures to determine its rankings: academic reputation, employment data, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of the program, value as it relates to tuition and indebtedness, and graduation rate.
