Corporex, a Covington-based private investment firm, has officially hired Suzanne Deatherage as the organization’s new marketing director.
The position is newly created within the company. Deatherage’s responsibilities will be to oversee the day-to-day management of Corporex and its related organizations strategic marketing and communications. These organizations include all commercial and residential real estate developments, such as the Ovation mixed-use development in Newport, Ky., Five Seasons Family Sports Club and Commonwealth Hotels.
“I’m eager to join the Corporex team during a time of such strong growth and new opportunities,” said Deatherage of her new role. “I look forward to working closely with the leadership team to continue to help tell the organization’s success story, and drive growth and revenue through a strategic marketing and communications approach.”
Deatherage has more than 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing and events management. Before starting her new role at Corporex, Deatherage served as Sr. Manager, Marketing Communications at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, starting in 2018. She received her bachelors of science in journalism and public relations from Bowling Green State University in 1989; and graduated from Xavier Leadership Center’s Project Management Certificate Program as a Certified Project Manager in 2016.
The hiring of Deatherage and creation of the new marketing director role at Corporex is the latest in a restructuring of the company’s leadership team.
In December, Corporex also announced that Nick Heekin, who has been with Corporex for over 15 years, was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer of Corporex Companies, LLC. With over 35 years of experience in the organization, Tom Banta also assumed the title of Chief Real Estate Officer, a newly formed role to focus on all Corporex real estate related holdings.
Heather Harris also expanded her role within the company to another newly developed role of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Corporex Companies. Deatherage will report directly to Harris in her role as marketing director. She will assist Harris in continuing to build a robust sales and marketing force to support Corporex’ s continued growth.
