Beloved fusion restaurant Kung Food Chu’s AmerAsia, located on Madison Avenue in Covington, has announced a temporary closure in a Facebook.
The restaurant said in the post that their exhaust system had been hit by a truck traveling through the alleyway bordering the building. The alleyway featured their external exhaust system. As a result of the collision, smoke began rushing into the kitchen. At the moment, the restaurant is unsure of how long the damage will keep them closed.
“Closed for the day, possibly the week, possibly the month. Right now we don’t know. Our number one concern with reopening this alley has happened after only less than a week of it being reopened. Our (city permitted) exhaust system has been ran into by a truck. Smoke is pouring into our kitchen. We will keep you all updated on possible developments, but we need to remain closed until we can see the extent of the damage. Please wish us luck,” read the Facebook post.
Fans of the restaurant were quick to offer their support and well-wishes to the establishment under the Facebook post.
