Three students attended the Ludlow board of education meeting last week to present a check for $800 in support of the school band.
Bella Chayer, Meadow Chayer, and Ava Hartman, fourth and sixth graders at Ludlow, worked at a concession stand at the last few baseball games this season and were able to make some extra money from selling snacks and drinks.
Charlie Hartman and his wife, the girls’ grandparents, were also present, at the meeting.
Charlie has been supporting the band for years, according to Superintendent Michael Borchers, and he encouraged the girls to have their concession stand and donate the proceeds.
The girls proudly handed over the money to Cindy Powell, chair of the Board of Education.
