The new mayor of Crescent Springs is Mike Daugherty, a longtime member of city council.
Daugherty was selected by his fellow council members at Monday night’s meeting.
He replaces Justin Hartfiel stepped down as mayor on March 27 in order to focus on his doctoral research, as reported by LINK nky.
Justin Hartfiel replaced his grandfather, Lou Hartfiel, who died in office nearly a year ago.
Daugherty is now the third mayor of Crescent Springs in less than a year.
Daugherty served as a city council member from 2004 through 2010 and then ran again and was elected in 2014. He has served on the Fire Authority since 2006 and was an active member of the Crescent Springs/Villa Hills Fire Department from 1979 through 2005.
“I’m looking at this to help move the city forward,” Daugherty said. “Help make communication key and work with citizens more than we have been.”
Mark Wiesenberger was the only other person who addressed council with interest in the vacant seat.
